What I Read in September 2022

What I Read in September 2022

Love & Other Words: I read this book in a day and I wish I had made it last longer. If you liked Every Summer After, then you will love this book. This is a best friends to lovers romance and it makes me just want to get a cabin in the woods to spend every weekend.

November 9: Colleen Hoover can do no wrong in my book and this was no exception! This book has romance, spice, and a twist that you won’t see coming. If you are craving fast-paced brain candy then move this book up your TBR pile.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow: all I can say about this book is wow. This is definitely my top book of the year and I am still thinking about it weeks after reading it. If you love books about friendship and coming-of-age stories then you will love it. Follow two best friends through their video game design careers. I know what you are thinking “video games?” but trust me. This is the most honest story of complicated friendships and being human in the world that I have read in a long time. Be warned I cried through the last 100 pages of this book.

On The Rooftop: a good but not overly exciting book, I felt like I had read this story before and knew exactly how it would end. This historical fiction book follows a mom and her three daughters who are trying to follow their mother’s dream and ambitions for them, set against the backdrop of a gentrifying San Francisco in the 1950s.

Instead of doing what I thought I was supposed to be doing, I got intentional. I started asking “what if” all the time and I stopped putting so much pressure on myself to do things at the perfect time or the right way. Instead I took a little leap here and another there to create a life I love.
