Is anyone else confused as to where the year went? This is my last book update before the end of 2023 and I just can’t believe it. If you want to read any reviews from earlier this year or previous years you can click here. AND if you are still searching for gifts for your favorite book-ish human click here for my gift guide.

What I Read in November 2023

Bright Young Woman: I listened to this book on Audible and was a little worried about being able to follow the multiple POVs and then, now timeline, but I was pleasantly surprised. This audiobook was so well done! This book is a thriller inspired by the sorority that was targeted by America’s first celebrity serial killer. Jessica Knoll does a great job of de-centering the killer and shining a light on the bright young women he targeted.

None of This is True: the title should tell you all you need to know about this thriller. A podcaster has her next story just fall in her lap, but she never could have seen what came next. I truly don’t want to share any other details other than if you LOVE unreliable narrators like I do, then you will really enjoy this book.

The Soulmate Equation: after two heavier thrillers I decided to pull this book from my shelves. Christina Lauren never disappoints! This romance asks the question what would you do if you found your soul mate? Your perfect match according to science that is…There is a sequel to this book too, and I can’t wait to start reading it.

Other Birds: this may be my number-one read of the year. Other Birds felt like stepping into a world not so dissimilar from our own, but filled with magic. You couldn’t help but fall in love with the Dellawisp and all its residents. A story about grief, found family, and finding your home.

Remarkably Bright Creatures: I did not think I was going to get a chance to read this book before the end of the year and I am so glad I did! I listened to this on Audible and highly recommend if only for the octopus narrator. This story is about second chances, underestimated humans and creatures alike, and finding hope.

Extremely Online: this is such a good read for anyone looking to understand the history and the inner workings of social media and influencers. This was one of my highly anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint. I am recommending this to anyone outside of the industry looking to understand a little more. Chapters are digestible and you will get a wave of nostalgia reading about popular viners and social media platforms of the 2000s.

I'm Bailey, your new social media bestie.

Instead of doing what I thought I was supposed to be doing, I got intentional. I started asking “what if” all the time and I stopped putting so much pressure on myself to do things at the perfect time or the right way. Instead I took a little leap here and another there to create a life I love.
