Yesterday, I shared about all the products I have purchased or been gifted that were absolutely worth it. Today, I am back with the items that I have purchased that were absolutely NOT worth it. If one of these items is something you love, that’s great. I am just sharing why these did not work for me specifically. Plus a lot of these items I still have and use, I just wouldn’t necessarily recommend you go out and purchase them!
I would love to hear your stories in the comments of items you thought were worth it or not worth it.
Products That Were Not Worth the $$$
Vitruvi Diffuser: this is one of those items that I do LOVE having and I use it frequently, but the diffuser market has changed a lot and I think you can get a similar quality and look as the one I own for a fraction of the cost. My diffuser is easy to clean, pretty, and works perfectly 3-years later though.
Canopy Humidifier: I think a humidifier is truly impossible to have without it getting a little gross. This is why I was so hesitant to get one, but I really fell for the marketing on this one. Canopy claims to be super simple to use and clean, and it is for the most part on a day-to-day basis. But after a year the area with the fan was completely filled with dust and dirt and it’s impossible to clean in there. I reached out to Canopy with photos and they sent me a new humidifier. My hopes aren’t high on this lasting much longer.
Life Straw Water Pitcher: the cutest glass pitcher that also filters water seemed like a no-brainer. But this literally made the water green. I don’t even know how to explain it. I love Life Straw’s other outdoor products, but skip this one for your home. Brita is best.
Kindle: I deeply want to enjoy reading on a kindle and I understand the convenience, but for me, it is just not it. I use my Kindle a couple of times a year when I go backpacking and that’s it. Everyone else I know loves their Kindle.
Pura: I was gifted a Pura starter set and then purchased several refills with the Volcano scent. That’s the scent Anthropologie uses in their stores. This device works great. It uses an app on your phone to set the times you want your house scented and how strong you’d like it and they have a wide range of fragrances. My issue was how quickly it felt like I went through scents and the price point. It wasn’t worth it to continue. Maybe if you have a smaller home (my ceilings are super tall) it would work better!
Totally agree with you about the Pura and the Kindle. Those little Pura cartridges add up. And I use the Kindle app on my iPad when I need to use a Kindle. But I love my Life Straw pitcher! No green water here.
