Another year is coming to a close and I am grateful to be keeping this tradition alive of sharing everything I read throughout the year. This is my fourth year sharing my book round-ups and it’s such a fun post to look back on. If you want to see what I read in 2020, 2019, and 2018 you can check out those posts.
Normally when I post these book roundups, I get a lot of questions about how I have time for so much reading and how to make reading a habit so I thought we could talk about it for a minute before diving into everything I read. In 2018 I made a resolution to read something every day, even if it was just a sentence I promised myself I would open a book every single day. I think making such a small attainable goal is why this habit really stuck. I was reading way more than a sentence a day and really fell back in love with reading. Since then I have kept up the reading and in 2021 I began hosting a book club by starting the Literary League Salt Lake City Chapter. You can click here to join the Salt Lake City Chapter or click here to find one near you. My last tip for people trying to read more is to embrace audiobooks and if you don’t love the book you are reading, give yourself permission to put it down.
This year I read a total of 50 books which is a little more than last year. I don’t normally set reading goals for myself, because I find them to be stressful, but I always try to read a little bit more than the year before.
Everything I Read in 2021
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
I’d love to know which ones were your favorites! I’ve found that I almost always enjoy the ones you mention on the podcast. Happy New Year!
The ones I couldn’t stop talking about were Where the Crawdads Sing, Ghosts, The Midnight Library, The Push, Nightbitch, People We Meet On Vacation, and It Ends With Us. I have monthly reviews with longer descriptions under my books section too!
Did you like all of them?
Not all of them but a good majority. I have monthly recaps with longer reviews in my books section.
