I may have said this before (maybe a lot), but every trip I go on I don’t stop eating the entire time. I love to find unique restaurants and little coffee shops everywhere I go which is why this guide is my dream guide to research and share. La Jolla Cove is a pretty small area (I walked all over quite a few times) and they have the most darling restaurants, so wherever you go will find something good.

I, however, was looking for not only good food but places that were dog-friendly. Luckily, La Jolla is the place to go if you are a dog owner. Several restaurants even had menus for your dog. I know, it doesn’t get more adorable than that.

Here is where I ate on my trip:

Cody’s: If you are looking for delicious champagne cocktails and an afternoon lobster roll then this is the place to be. They are open for breakfast and lunch and have indoor and outdoor seating (but be warned the patio is not heated). I didn’t try the breakfast, but the french toast looked pretty amazing (from my neighbor’s table). This place has a dog menu!

Puestos: I went here every single day on my short trip. The tacos are beyond amazing. With unique monthly specials, like the soy chorizo and potato taco, you won’t have any regrets. I also tried a few of their desserts and they may have even been better than the tacos. Oh ya, don’t forget to order a couple margaritas as well.

Herringbone: I only had oysters and cocktails here, but the atmosphere is amazing. They have an entire garden inside the restaurant and beautiful lighting. I recommend sitting at the bar to get the full view of the place.

Karl Strauss Brewing Company: This place truly surprised me. I went one night for appetizers and highly recommend the cheese fondue. My second visit was all about dessert and I think I ordered one of everything. They have a great 29th Anniversary Barrel Beer that is worth the order. There was never a wait here which was a bonus traveling with a dog.

There are many more places to eat in La Jolla, I might need to go back sooner rather than later to try them all out but these are just a few to get you started!
