There are only a few more weeks left of winter and I could not be more excited for spring to arrive. Winter definitely came late here and I was not prepared for it at all. I am still missing the 70 degree days, but really trying to embrace the fresh snow too! How are your winter bucket lists coming along? Have you made it through some of your goals or is it time to get into gear and start ticking off items on that list?
I have been making pretty good progress, both achieving things that I listed out and forming some really great habits that will stay with me for the rest of the year. You can see what I had on my winter bucket list here. There are only three more things left on my list, going on a solo road trip, take a cooking class, and hiking to the hot springs. After my car accident in January I didn’t have a car that I could road trip with, but luckily the stars have aligned so it’s looking like I will be able to get away for a short weekend trip.
Here’s my bucket list progress from February
Create a playlist: I almost always opt to listen to other people’s playlists or Spotify channels rather than just creating my own. I have been working on creating my own playlist for morning walks and to kick off my work day in the morning. WARNING: this playlist is a little random and has old songs on it, but it always puts a smile on my face. You can listen to it here.
Escape the cold and go somewhere warm: My family and I took a trip to La Jolla in February and it was so much fun. I had been to San Diego, but not La Jolla and it is the cutest little beach town. We spent mornings watching the seals, and our afternoons were filled with long walks and good food. You can see where we ate here. This was also my first time traveling with Stanley, and now I know this dog can go anywhere! It was so much fun to show him the beach and experience a new city from a dog’s perspective.
Set savings goal for the year: After reading You Are A Badass At Making Money, I sat down and really worked out what I would like to be making, how much I wanted to have saved up and am setting things in motion to make that happen. I highly recommend downloading Digit if you are not a pro saver. They make it extremely easy to save without even thinking. All you do is put in your goals and they automatically save for you. If you sign up with my link you get $5 to put into your savings goal (every penny counts)!
Go skiing: I used to ski every weekend growing up and now that it has gotten a little more expensive and I have had several knee injuries, it hasn’t been the priority that it used to be. I’ve gone skiing four times this year and it has reminded me how much I love it! Skiing is one of those sports that I forget how much fun it is until I am up there on the mountain. I am hoping to go a couple more times before the season ends.
Read every single day: I have stuck with this goal of just reading something from a book every day and it truly has made it so much easier to get through books. I finished The Woman in the Window and would highly recommend it if you are looking for a good thriller. I will keep you updated on all my favorite books throughout the year!
P.S. you can see how some of my other goals went here.
I’ve heard The Woman in the Window is so good, I need to read it!! And I wish I could go skiing, that sounds so fun!

You must read the Woman in the Window, I was astounded by the ending! And maybe you need to plan a trip to Utah for some fresh snow.
