I had a lot of unexpected things happen in 2019, but one of the most unexpected and maybe one of the most fun things was getting into a good beauty routine! For most of my life, I have been really lucky with relatively easy skin. Yes, I get a zit here and there and yes, I have blackheads. Even still, if I left my makeup on overnight or never cleaned my face, it would be fine. However this year, I started thinking more about sun damage, preventative measures, and getting a nice natural glow (without highlighter).
In 2020, I am going to be sharing more beauty posts, because I truly think there is no better way to spend your time than with a facemask and a good book.
Here are my favorite beauty items for 2019.
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask: This is my holy grail product! I use it about once a week and it is worth every penny. This mask tightens and brightens your face. I put this mask on before a big event or night out too.
Sunday Riley Retinol Serum: Retinol reduces fine lines and the appearance of aging. I started using this in May and have really loved the results. I am mainly using this as a preventative product at this time and I didn’t find it overly harsh on my skin.
Versed Eye Brightener: Ever wake up looking tired and confused? This eye brightener will work wonders. Versed is all clean and available at a great price point.
Origins Night A Mins: This product has been on my shelves for the past two years and will continue to be my night time moisturizer for a long time. It’s not heavy and I wake up feeling dewy.
Origins Gin Zing Moisturizer: Another product that I have been using for ages (probably four-plus years). This is my go-to daily moisturizer. One of my favorite parts is the scent!
Ice Roller: If you need a little depuffing or just want to feel luxurious, this ice roller is the answer. I keep it in my freezer at all times and pull it out in the morning for a 5-minute session.
REN Sunscreen: If you aren’t concerned about the damage everyday sun is doing to your skin, I encourage you to take some time and read about why it’s so bad for you. I have gotten into a routine of putting on sunscreen every day and I love this one!
Murad Replenishing Multi-Acid Peel: I use this product every other night and it keeps skin smooth and helps with imperfections as they appear.
Pixi Beauty Toner: I don’t know why I wasn’t using toner, but it truly gives a great glow. This one was sent to me earlier in the year and I seriously need to buy more.
I’ve used most of these items for a year or more and have repurchased a couple of times. If you are looking to create a skincare/beauty routine, I highly recommend starting with one new item at a time. That way you know how your skin reacts and what is or isn’t working.
