This summer has been FLYING by. I can’t even believe that we are approaching the end of July. It has been a little while since I have done a life update post and this feels like the perfect time.
Routine Updates
One of my most frequently asked questions is about my morning and nighttime routine so I thought this would be a good place to start. I feel like after spending an entire year not really leaving the house and having literally nowhere to be, I was definitely not in a good routine. Over the past two months, I have gotten back into it though.
My mornings look mostly like this:
- Wake up and drink a big glass of water. Seriously, drink the water right away.
- Journal. As of late, I have been doing morning pages that are recommended by The Artist’s Way.
- Workout: I am now a die-hard Peloton fan and don’t see this changing any time soon. I try to work out at least 3 times a week and more if I am feeling up to it.
- Meditate: this is something I had really let fall to the side but it makes all the difference in my day and outlook on life. I use Headspace and think it’s a great app for anyone new to meditating.
- Shower
- Coffee
I don’t really have a nighttime routine unless you count, eating ice cream, and doing a lengthy skincare routine.
Fun Business Updates
I am not sure if it was the pandemic or just general life, but when spring came along I was seriously burnt out. Work seemed very blah and felt heavy, but I am happy to report that after a little time off and some more opportunities to work outside of my house I am feeling so much more inspired and excited about work.
I have a few new clients that I am beyond excited to work with and I am working on a special side project that I hope to share more about soon!
Travel Updates
It still feels so strange to talk about travel right now and I am still figuring out what I am comfortable with as Delta variant cases rise, but some of the highlights of this summer have been around travel.
I was able to take a road trip to Sedona. You can read all about it here and I have a handful of short trips planned soon. I also have been trying to have more adventure in my day to day and it has made a world of a difference in my overall happiness. This includes going on hikes during the week (I know it’s crazy to leave the house after work) and weekend camping/backpacking trips. The fact that I live in such a beautiful place that is so close to beautiful scenic spots is something I will forever be grateful for.
I would love to know if you’ve had any recent changes in the past few months. Let me know in the comments below!
