My favorite way to start out a new month is by writing this “what I read” post. This month was a little bit of a slow one for reading. With the election and big spikes in COVID-19 rates, I was a little too on edge to really focus when I was reading. One thing that really got me back into the flow of daily reading was an audiobook. I used to HATE audiobooks, but now I can’t get enough. They are great for long road trips, cleaning around the house, or a little companion for long walks. If you haven’t been an audiobook person, I highly recommend trying it again before the year is over.
Okay now onto what I read in October:
Followers: Yes to this book! Imagine if instead of Instagram or Facebook, the government ran the internet and there were select people whose lives were live-streamed 24/7. That is the premise of this book and how we got there. This book was a fun read with a happy ending we all need.
Brag Better: This book was recommended to me by a podcast listener and I am so glad I read it. Brag Better is all about an unapologetic approach to self-promotion. I thought this book was really great for anyone who struggles to talk about or promote themselves or their business.
Vibrate Higher Daily: A book that I truly think everyone should read. Lalah Delia shares her story to vibrating higher daily and the changes she made to get there. This book is inspiring and uplifting and will make you question some of those day to day choices you make, who you surround yourself with, and where you want to go next.
Unsub: This book was WILD. It follows a serial killer that everyone thought was already dead. A father who originally worked on the case reconnects with his daughter who is now working on the same case, more than a decade later. This book had me on the edge of my seat and really sucked me in.
My reading list is too long to even share here, but I did want to share a few holiday-themed books that are moving to the top of my list.
