Raise your hand if you find yourself venturing into the world of woo. Maybe you have a few crystals or got your cards pulled, or perhaps you just believe in the universe providing for you. OR … maybe you are completely rolling your eyes right now. Either way, I want to invite you to read the rest of this post with an open mind and curiosity.

Embracing Your Inner Woo

If you asked me a year or two ago about crystals or tarot readings or whatever, I would have almost completely tuned out. But as of late I have been learning to embrace my inner woo and wanted to share this process for you.

Why Embrace the Woo?

For this question, I always ask a question in response, “well, why not?” If writing down your wants and goals and sending them out to the universe could help you achieve your goals and bring more joy into your life then it seems the risk far outweighs the reward.

Starting to tap into your center and connecting with the universe around you does something very important. It asks you to be still. Still is something that we seemingly never are. Between scrolling through Instagram, hanging out with friends/family, running your business, and oh yeah cooking three meals a day, we are hardly ever still. But it is in these moments of quiet and introspection that we start to really connect with what we want and get clear on how to get there.

If you have often rolled your eyes at your crystal loving bestie, I want to challenge you to instead think about the last time you were really connected with your own wants and desires and clear on how you were going to get there.

The other BIG thing that tapping into this stillness provides is a bigger sense of trust. Trust in yourself that you do in fact know what you want and trust that the world/universe/God wants that for you too.

What I have been doing:

Full Moon Ceremony: on the night of the full moon, sit down in the light of the moon and write down all of the things you want to let go of and everything you want to bring into your life. Then, rip up the paper or burn it. Oftentimes people charge crystals on the same full moon evening. You simply place your crystals into the light of the moon and leave them out overnight.

Learning about human design: I am just starting to learn about human design but as I learn more I am excited to share. Human design tells you things about how you work best and thrive.

Gratitude Practice: I have been doing this for the past few years and it is such a great way to start your day. Writing down what you are grateful for opens you up to more good things.

Meditation: If you haven’t meditated before, it’s time to jump in headfirst. Meditation is not just for the woo, it is for everybody. It helps us slow down our nervous system and live in the present moment. If you are stressed, anxious, fearful, or experiencing any negative feeling, sit down, close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths. Try it when you are feeling positive too!

Saying and listening to positive affirmations: As cheesy as it may be, I freakin’ love these. I say things like “money flows into my life easily.” “I am pure magic.” and “I am in exactly the right place and it is only getting better and better.”

Things to bring into your practice:

If you have never stepped into the world of the woo, I have a few recommendations to help you dip your toes in.

Read this book to start learning about your relationship with money and abundance.

Listen to this podcast episode all about crystals.

Start a gratitude practice, seriously today.

Challenge yourself to meditate every single day for one month. Record how you feel before and after.

As I continue to learn, I will share some of my own experiences and I can’t wait to hear about what woo you start to incorporate into your own life.

I'm Bailey, your new social media bestie.

Instead of doing what I thought I was supposed to be doing, I got intentional. I started asking “what if” all the time and I stopped putting so much pressure on myself to do things at the perfect time or the right way. Instead I took a little leap here and another there to create a life I love.
