New Year’s Eve means new beginnings, glitter and fireworks. It is a night that promises glamour and rarely delivers. With resolutions flying around and the countdown nearing it’s time for you to make this New Years really count. Of course 2016 doesn’t rely on a fabulous celebration, but it can’t hurt right? So here are some of the ways I am making sure my New Year’s Eve celebration glitter!
Put together a rock star outfit: There are only a few times throughout the year when you can wear glitter head to toe so take advantage of it. This year I will be wearing an amazing shift dress from Topshop and velvet pumps from Sole Society. I love wearing a chunky heal because it almost always guarantees comfort, and with a long night on my feet I know I will need it.
Nothing says NYE like a good DIY project: The best way to enjoy your New Years is with great photos so why not make a backdrop. Here are a few ideas I am tossing up below!
These are all great because you’ll have photos to remember the night by, but even more importantly you will have a blast decorating and taking silly photos with your friends.
Stock that bar: NYE is not the time to drink cheap champagne or wine from a bag. Splurge a little on your favorite drinks and get creative with a champagne bar or pick a signature cocktail for the night. You won’t regret starting off 2016 with these concoctions.
Don’t be afraid of confetti: Yes it may be a hassle but the fun you will have throwing it in the air and pretending it is snowing glitter will be worth the ten minutes it will take to vacuum up. Try some of these cute party favors to encourage the confetti fun!
Keep the expectations low: As much as you may want the best NYE ever and even if you plan everything out sh*t will happen, so let it! It’s no fun having to follow a strict schedule or getting pouty when things go wrong. Try to go with the flow and enjoy the night whatever it may bring.
Don’t forget in all the NYE fun the most important thing is to start 2016 off on the right foot so be safe!
