I made a resolution for 2018 to read something every single day, and I stuck to this about 95% of the time. Which, honestly is better than most of my resolutions go and because of that I have a huge list of books that I read this year.
Check out my list and see a few others that I am looking forward to reading in 2019.
You Are a Badass At Making Money
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
My goal for next year is to double the number of books I read, and I already have a few books on the list including:
At the beginning of the year, I was only counting “reading” as books, but I have shifted that a little bit to include articles as well. The practice of just reading something, even if you don’t have a book nearby became really important to me. So while you are waiting for your books to ship here are some favorite articles I read this year.
What You’ll Gain by Doing Nothing
Brene Brown on How to Be Your Most Brave & Courageous Self
Why Are All These Influencers Standing in the Middle of the Street?
If you are looking to read more in 2019 then I recommend doing these 3 things:
- Sign up for Book of the Month Club: they have a great monthly selection and it’s a fun way to get in the habit of reading. Plus, I am a sucker for a subscription box!
- Follow Reese Witherspoon’s book club: you won’t regret following this Instagram account. RW has wonderful book recommendations and the community is engaged and supportive.
- Find an accountability buddy: reading a book and not having anyone to share it with can feel depressing! I would finish a book and want to talk all about it but have to wait for someone else to read it. This year I am in search of someone who wants to take on reading just as much as I do. You will not only read more because someone is doing it with you but it’ll be even more enjoyable.
I would love to hear if you have read any of these books or if you have recommendations on a few to add to my list. Please comment with your favorite books.

I’m just about to read Turtles All the Way Down, and I can’t wait! I just finished Crazy Rich Asians and loved it… now I just need to watch the movie! Thanks for sharing all of your suggestions!

Let me know what you think of Turtles All the Way Down! I am so excited to reach Crazy Rich Asians, but I feel like I spoiled it by watching the movie first.
Good comments and a great book list.
